Why Mark Edward Brown took the Bus to See a Hanbok

HanbokOver the weekend I took the bus to Seoul, South Korea to see one of my friends get married.  He married a beautiful woman of Korean dissent so there were traditional aspects of the Korean marriage ceremony interspersed with modern, westernized ceremonies as well.

I took the bus because I was able to get from where I live now to Seoul in only 2 hours.  I drove to Seoul in my car to bring a friend back home a few weekends ago and it took me 4 hours to get that person home.  That was a one way trip on the Korean highway to he– funny that that hiway’s number is #1.  As I said I took the bus this time because I learned my lesson, there is a special “bus only” lane on the Korean hiway which makes travel by bus much faster then by car or other 4-wheeled vehicle.

The image that you see pictured above is a traditional Korean wedding dress, called a “Hanbok”.  The bride wore a white wedding dress however her mother wore the traditional “hanbok” that was pink on the top and a creme color on the bottom.  There was an American Chaplain that presided over the ceremony and a Korean interpreter for the bride’s family and guests.  All in all it was one of the more memorabel wedding ceremonies that I have been to aside from my own of course :-)

I also created a video that shows a stunning view of the Seoul cityscape or skyline, filmed from my hotel room in the heart of the city.  There are some aspects of this video that are related to my online business so that is my disclaimer, I would still go and watch though because you may find it amusing…

Please leave a comment and tell me what you think or if you have attended a memorable wedding lately?

Always with my best regards,

Mark Edward Brown
