Mark Edward Brown Debuts His About.me Webpage

I am always looking for ways to make a statement both verbally and non-verbally.  My family, friends, and acquaintences who know me will tell you the exact same thing.  I like to make a statement with the words that I say, in other words quite often when I talk, I repeat myself, I pronunciate, I make facial expressions, use body launguage, heck – as you can read now I am even expressing myself through the written word and with imagery that relates emotion.

It’s not enough these days just to talk, anyone can do that and you are not guaranteed to be heard just because you open your mouth and say something.

I have had many people ask me why I blog and even how they can start their own blog.  Some people want to try it out but are not quite sure if they want to go that far at this point in their life.

Right now I want to show you a simple website that you can use to get your face, your message, and your contact information out there.

“Out where?” You ask, the world wide web of course…  I have met allot of people, in the course of my life and I have travelled to many lands such as Germany, France, Denmark, all over Europe, Kuwait, Alaska, all over the United States, currently I am in South Korea; all of those people had something to say – so, with that being said, allow me to help you get “out there”!

Mark Edward Brown's about.me page

It’s really simple to get started, you just click on my photo or goto http://about.me  you dont even need your own picture, you can use their backgroud images.

I’m no picture expert but I will help you if you need help getting it all set up.

I set my own page up in about 10 minutes and it only took that long because I am picky about how words and images appear but of course, you already know that because of what I wrote above huh?

O.k. now it’s your turn, go get your own About.me page and make sure to let me know what your unique website address is so that I can go and check it out?

Give me your feedback on if you liked this resource or not, leave a comment, re-tweet this for your friends and family, like it on FaceBook and for crying out loud people – DON’T BE A BLOG SNOB, I know you have something to say so say it!

Always with my best regards,

Mark Edward Brown

How to Change Your Mind in Order to Change Your Life

I just read a powerful quote about how one man who was dubbed “An Original Thinker” proclaimed that the greatest discovery of his generation was that people could change their lives by changing their attitudes.

Now I am sure that frame of thought is not new to you and you have probably heard it before however before I share with you that quote in it’s entirety I want to share one more fact that is crucial to making this entire concept work.

Being a leader is not easy but it is worth it, with that being said, you should know that I am not going to just place a quote on this blog without doing some research to ensure that this information is genuine.

Today, the average adult’s attention span is 15 to 20 minutes in length, that means that if they are concentrating it is only possible to do so for 15 to 20 minutes however when there are instant messages poping up and message notifications coming in etc there is no way for an average adult to comprehend anything.

Where am I going with this you ask?  Read the following quote and then we will continue:

“The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind.”    -William James

I pulled this information from the Stanford University website and to my astonishment Mr. James died in 1910!

If a critical thinker who died in 1910 had it figured out and now you know how to apply the concept armed with the knowledge that you can only focus your attention for a set period of time, why not give it a try?

I have applied it and I can tell you that it works, let me know if it works for you.

Are You Communicating to be Successful?

In one of John Cow’s recent blog posts about communication he writes:

Advertising, marketing, branding, sales, PR, web design – all of these are considered separate departments within a business. But they really are all about one thing: communications. Every piece of your business, from your logo to your ads to your website to the way the receptionist answers the phone; they all say something about your company (if you’ve got one). And that, in turn, influences people’s opinions about your company and the products or services you provide.

How do you feel this compares with approaching business through the angle of connection and networking?

What is working well for you?

I would like to know so leave a comment and share your views,

Always to Your Success,
