Mark Edward Brown runs barefoot in Korean Monsoon

I am currently back in the USA on vacation with my family however I recently embarked on an unlikely event that I am dedicating to the barefooted running phenom known as Tellman Knudson, he’s also a millionaire marketer whom I follow closely.  I also want to mention one of my mentors Mark Joyner who is responsible for my introduction to Tellman (he’s also in the photo with Tellman).

Tellman is in the center with the white tank top and Mark has the red t-shirt on.

Many people that know me already know that I am an avid runner, I have been doing it since I was a kid and while I probably started as a barefooted babe until recently I had no desire to run without socks or shoes.

Here is what happened; I am stationed in Korea as I type this, I am there because of my Army career.  It’s the monsoon season right now and it had been raining like crazy all morning so I had not run yet.  Later in the day when the rain stopped I knew it was time to get a run in.  I was having a great run and some of the road I was running on was under water due to the amount of rain earlier in the day.  There was no way I was going to run through ankle to knee high water so I took off my socks and shoes and began to walk through the water.

As soon as I arrived at the end of the underwater portion of the road it began to rain again so I figured “what the heck” Tellman does this all the time and Mark did it as well so I’ll give it a try.

I ran barefooted for about a quarter of a mile and then I put my socks and shoes back on.  I thought to myself  “if only Tellman and Mark could see me now” :-)   It stopped downpouring just as I was ending my run and I was stoked because I gained some insight into how mentally tough you have to be to run barefooted.

How Militant Marketers Make the Most of a Marketing Approach

I read a bad marketing book once (not an e-book), but even though it was a bad read, I decided to continue reading in the future. I read another bad marketing book and even though the experience permanently changed my attitude toward marketing, I decided to try it again.

I heard a horible song once and even though I wasted my money, I later decided to purchase another CD.

I tried swimming onetime, and quit because I almost drowned but then I tried jogging and liked it.

One of my relatives buys lottery tickets and losses yet, my relative keeps buying more tickets in the hopes winning in the future.

Your client went golfing once and had a bad score. Yet, they continued to golf and he continues to enjoy the greens at the local course.

Your client had a bad date once, but continued to date new people.

And your client may have failed or had a bad experience in marketing once, twice as well.

See the pattern developing here?

Just because your client has had one or two bad experiences, they still may take advantage of online and offline marketing.

The lesson here is not to let the failures of your past dictate your future.

You can change and improve your results.

Here is how to approach tough clients without rejection.

Ask your client to evaluate the product or service that you are recomending so that they can tell you if it would be a good move for you.  By removing the committment and reversing the risk your client will evaluate whatever you are recomending from their point of view for you.  You can then get back in touch with them or offer them a freebie for their time investment which will lead to follow up communication and sales for you.

How Militant Marketers create Blog Stats that Matter

Less then 90 days ago I began my blog, so as any strategic thinking (militant) marketer would do I wanted to see how Mark Edward Brown’s
Blog was doing when compared to say Mark Joyner’s or Seth Godin’s blog!

You may be thinking to yourself “How can a guy that just started a blog less then 90 days ago (at the time of this writing) compare himself to a Godin or Joyner level marketer?

I’ll not only tell you how, I will show you how also, that is what distinguishes a true Militant Marketer from other run of the mill, wanabee blogger/marketers!

I went to WebsiteGrader.com and had them run a comprehensive test of how The Militant Marketer / Warrior Leader Blog stacks up with Icons of this marketing era.

My blog ranked 77 out of 100 which is not to bad, in fact it is slightly better then I expected.

Both my Blog Rank and my Traffic Rankings were better then Seth’s site and my Inbound Links, Traffic Ranking and Blog Ranking was better
then Mark Joyner’s blog.

I need to improve my Google Page Rank and tie in some more social marketing activities but over all I am satisfied with this ranking and it gives me a good baseline to make improvements from.

O.K. hold on, No Way – I am not basing my happy – happy / joy – joy feelings on one websites statistics.  I also went to Blogged.com where they reviewed my blog for me and they ranked my blog as a 7.5 out of 10!

How cool is that?

Take a minute to rate my blog at Blogged.com over there on the right hand side of the blog, it may help me improve my rating and I give you my hearty Thank-You, in advance.

You can use both of the resources mentioned above to get a good baseline of how your blog is performing and if you do I invite you to leave a comment on how you are doing and the tools you are using to get great blog rankings and readerhsip.
