Don’t get the wrong idea, I did not take some kind of illegal steroid or get a medical enhancement of any kind and while I am athletic I did not pump iron so long that my arms exploded.
I had some serious tattoo work done that transformed the old ink that I had on my upper left arm. Before I get into the details here are the before photos:
That is the (before) photo and as you can see I had an old & basic dragon with no legs, in fact it looks more like a flying sea serpent than a dragon. You can also see a crucifix with a band of thorns beneath it.
I have been thinking about seeking out a transformation of the serpent and the crucifix for some time now however I knew that it would take a talented artist and I could not depend on just anyone to do it. My research and background work started a number of years ago when one of my cousins was in town for some military training. One weekend I took him and a buddy to every tattto shop in town so I took note of how they were treated and who said what to whom etc. I also recieved a personnal testamonial for a local shop called the One Eyed Blue Monkey
I am home on leave and regulations forbid military members from getting tattoos in Korea due to sanitary conditions and lack of regulations regarding proper business practices. This was the perfect time to visit the best prospect for my business and see if they did in fact have someone who could do what I was hoping would turn what I consider “outdated concepts” and old memories of chapters in my previous history that I am ready to turn the page on.
I am happy to report that Frederick, a prior service military man who has been slinging ink for 20 years is a tattoo transformation expert. After a consult with him he had the best idea which I had not considered and that was to place a Dragon’s head over/around the old tattoos that I had. Initially I did want an entire dragon with head, body, tail and all however Fred, explained that a head instead of the body from a distance would be more distinct and noticable whereas an entire dragon on one’s upper arm tends to look like a sploch of ink from a distance.
With all that said, it was time to get down to business so after an afternoon of sitting in “the chair” Frederick exceeded my expectations. I recomend Freddy and the crew from the One Eyed Blue Monkey tattoo shop and my wife liked the finished artwork so much that she made me take her in so she could get a tattoo as well.
With all that said and done here is a photo of the finished artwork. It looks good in the photo however I think if you could see it on me with your own eyes you would be just as amazed and appreciative of the talent that Frederick posseses.

Have any new tattoos or tattoo stories you want to share, leave me a comment and tell me about it.
Always with my best regards,

I have been home for one week now and I have been loving it. I have been so busy I have not had time to blog. I have more than one blog however, like I said, there is not enough time in the day to get all the blogging done that I want to. I actually like blogging so much that I am reading a book about it (don’t call me crazy, I know I already am lol).
