Mark Edward Brown shares a TED Talk about workplace productivity

Norman Freeman is a fellow online leader in the web traffic and marketing industry, he is from Germany and he sent me a very insightful presentation from the TED organization.  It is so profound and meaningful that I wanted to share it with you here on the Mark Edward Brown Blog.

If you have never spent 5 minutes here reading some of the leadership, social networking or marketing information I urge you to set aside a few minutes and really absorb this presentation (click on the image below):

Evilution or Evolution, Mark Edward Brown asks a controversial question?

DNA image at Mark Edward Brown's BlogOh, this one’s a doosey… *Disclaimer* if you are not prepared to think, be entertained or not open minded DO NOT read this post!

Here we go, do You believe in evolution?

Today I read a very interesting news article on yahoo that was reported on by Daniel Estrin of the Associated Press, it said that Israeli archaeologists may have found the earliest evidence yet for the existence of modern man, and if so, it could upset theories of the origin of humans.

A Tel Aviv University team excavating a cave in central Israel said teeth found in the cave are about 400,000 years old and resemble those of other remains of modern man, known scientifically as Homo sapiens, found in Israel. The earliest Homo sapiens remains found until now are half as old.

X-rays and CT scans were used to date these teeth and if this current claim is true than it changes the whole picture of evolution and evolutionary theory.

The article goes on to say; “According to today’s accepted scientific theories, modern humans and Neanderthals stemmed from a common ancestor who lived in Africa about 700,000 years ago. One group of descendants migrated to Europe and developed into Neanderthals, later becoming extinct. Another group stayed in Africa and evolved into Homo sapiens — modern humans.”

My big question is, What do You believe?  Does this latest find confirm or deny your beliefs? How do you know that what you know is really real?

Let’s talk about it – leave me a comment, I do respond!

Silver Bells and Silver Bars

Silver Bells Image at MarkEdwardBrown.comIt’s about a week out from Christmas 2011 and as I reflect upon some of the experiences that I have had over the previous year I am thankful for the time that I have had in South Korea with the team of professionals that I work and interact with on a daily basis!  I am fortunate enough to work, play and train with the very small (1%) percentage of the population that has volunteered to serve the entire population of the United States in the pursuit of the preservation of it’s liberty and rights.  There is no doubt that I am on the cutting edge of leadership and diplomacy on the world stage, it’s fast paced, demanding yet the single most rewarding and challenging things that I have ever experienced.

In the spirit of the Holiday Season I wanted to share something that I haven’t done for a long time.  The fact is before now only my immediate family knew that I enjoyed what I am about to reveal…

*Gulp* – here goes:

I enjoy reading and writing poetry!

This is not something that I do on an every day basis and I haven’t written a poem in quite some time however I did find a poem that I want to share with you and in doing so I want your feedback as well.  Here it is:

THE GOLDEN
by Darlene Bridge

They are the rare, the radiant men
The children of truth, the parents of ken.
Pain but strengthens them, pity intrudes.
Rebuking suprises them. Guilt eludes.

Deception disgusts and envy astounds.
Misfortune challenges. Malice confounds.
They are the open, the honorable.
The honest, the just, the vulnerable.

With no respect for the twisting of truth,
Faithfully wed to the promise of youth,
They are the pure, the benevolent,
The incorruptible few – the Innocent.

I will write more about what I will be focusing on in the new year however if you did not catch the last video one of my goals and focus points for 2012 will be to move away from outdated and no longer effective ivestment vehicles.  I am have already started and will continue to acquire physical silver.  Click the image below to get the back story:
