Mark Edward Brown and Crew are Golden

Recently I was promoted in the largest and premier leadership organization in the world.  To some people who don’t know me that may seem like a bold claim, however folks who do know me simply know that is just a fact.  There is no way that I could have attained this promotion without talented people who have helped me along the way.

Two people who recently began working with me in my organization are J. Cardin and C. Lin (pictured below).  The significance of this photo is twofold; I don’t often post photo’s of me in my work environment and the three of us have “Gold” on our uniforms.

Gold is one of the most influential metals in the known universe, it’s properties are amazing and it has high value as percieved on the world stage.  Leaders from all walks of life to this day debate if it’s a currency or not.

Who are the people or persons who have been influential in your life lately, leave a comment and tell me who they are and why?

With my best regards always,

Mark Edward Brown

“Y” not why You should be a Leader

Letter Y

A very serious question has been stuck in my mind lately, in fact it has almost been haunting me.  I have pondered, prayed and almost worried about it.  What is it you ask?

The question is not about what I want to do nor what you should want to do, or not.  It’s all about “Y” not “why”!

I am not sure that you are following me so please allow me to explain.  Every one of us spends allot of time fantasizing, day dreaming and wondering what we are going to do when we grow up, retire or get rich.

However I believe the question we should be asking ourselves is why do we want to do all of the stuff that we think about?  I am going to boil this down to a one letter answer and then I will explain – are you ready?

The answer is not why, it’s “Y“!

If you really want to accomplish what you dream about you have to make a decision and then take some action and the lettery Y is the best road map to use in order to get where you want to go.  The letter Y is made up of one straight line that that divirges to the left and to the right.  When making the decision what you want to do approach your dilemna as if you were driving down the road approaching a decision point as in the letter Y example I just explained.  You either go to the left or to the right, you either make a decision to change or you continue to go the same way you have been going.

If you have been struggling about how to become a leader change your point of reference and approach it from Y you should be a leader not why you should be a leader.

Here are 3 quick ways that you can explore that will help you with Y you should become a leader and stop being a follower:

1) Read a book on leadership.

2) Watch a movie about leadership.

3) Join a leadership organization and learn about leadership.

All three of the methods above will allow you to define Y you should be a leader as well as catapult you towards your goal.  Instead of remaining a follower step out and begin your journey, you now know how and Y so get started!
