Shakespeare’s Mind Mine

Even Shakespeare knew the importance of using your mind to improve, control and shape one’s destiny.  If you are a leader, networker or just want to be an effective communicator read the mind mine below:

“Nothing is either good or bad, only thinking makes it so.”  – Shakespeare

I could not have said it better myself.  Do you have any great quotes or mind mines that you want to share?  If so, leave me a comment,

How to Connect and be a Social Networking Leader

Part of connecting and networking involves having a presence in the social marketing or web 2.0 space.  As you can tell from the way my blog is set up I get allot of valuable contacts through using sites like Twitter (see my last post for instance).

If no one has told you before now, Twitter is a powerful networking medium and one of my friends and a respected marketing leader, Joel Comm is going to demonstrate it to the world! See more HERE

Imagine having an opportunity to hear from some of the world’s most popular social media celebrities…

MC Hammer
Wil Wheaton
Robert Scoble
Gary Vaynerchuk
Chris Pirillo

and MANY more!

On Thursday, the 19th of February from 12:00 to Midnight the most important thing that you can do is joining me and my friends on this day for this very special event.

We’re going to use Twitter and ustream.tv to help some people who are greatly in need.

See you there,

How to Make a Rapidly Declining Leadership Style Work for You

This past week has been a blur, half of it was spent in meetings, one quarter of it was spent prepairing plans and requests to train the warriors that I am in charge of leading and the other quarter culminated in the events that unfolded this afternoon.

Now, before I loose you – stick with me because I am going to explain what I mean about declining leadership as I mentioned in the title.

This past weeks events all culminated in a 4 hour rapelling event for my organization. Most of the warriors that are in my company have all been rapelling before however, some of them had not and as you know any good leader who spots hesitancy or a lack of confidence in his people moves to quickly re-enforce the positivity of how well an individual or team is doing in order to keep momentum going.

Today I was fortunate to be able to demonstrate, encourage and participate with jr. leaders who needed some encouragement in order to rapell down a 30 foot wall. Keep in mind, this event was not a free fall, everyone was tied into a swiss seat or harness and taught the exact technique needed to be successful. Despite all of that there were still some folks that just needed some demonstration and leadership.

By rapelling, i.e. rapidly declining, I use my demonstrational leadership style to show my people how to accomplish the challenge of rappelling. It was exhilerating and rewarding all at the same time. Try demonstrating leadership to your team and see if the results don’t exceed your expectations.

Always to Your Success,

Mark Edward Brown
