One of the best ways that I’ve learned to benefit community groups such as public school programs to Future Farmers of America is to team up with like minded people and take action towards helping said group reach their goals.
I learned the importance of being a part of a team as a young man, playing school sports. Having good coaches can make a big impact in a young man or woman’s life. I also learned that by working to improve your own personal skills, abilities, and talents you in turn strengthen the team that you are a part of.
For the past year I have had the distinct honor and privilege of teaming up with many organizations in my community in Southwestern Oklahoma. This is not about me though, this is simply about a simple formula to apply in your life if you want to make an impact in virtually any local organization in your own community.
I will refer to my own examples and truthfully they are not my own because I am a member of a group of gentlemen whom I affectionately refer to as my “brothers”. Together we team up and help as many community organizations and programs as we can.
Teamwork really does make the dream work and we were able to present 3 of our community’s programs with monetary support to assist them in continuing the great work that they do.
Here is a photo of a benefit presentation for the Elgin, Oklahoma Middle School Winter Wishes Program. This program grants the wish of a student who pays a wish forward to another student. It’s an incredible program that teaches the values that my team aspires to – that of charity!

To recap, if you want to be a part of something meaningful in your community get involved with folks who share in your interests and goals. The group I am a part of enjoys laughing and having fun, eating and enjoying a meal together, and raising money to help community programs and causes that benefit widows, orphans and children in our community.
