Archive for the Warrior Leader News Category

The past week was one of the most memorable and hectic of my entire life, it tested all of my skills as both a warrior and a leader, here’s the rundown; some parts are a blur so bear with me, around 45 - 60 days ago I was chosen by my boss and his boss to assume a new leadership position, when my boss told me it blew my mind.

For the past year, just under 12 months I have been the Commander of an Initial Entry and Advanced Individual Training / One Station Unit Training Company most folks know it as “Boot Camp”.  At around the 8 month mark of this assignment my boss informed me that I was the best Commander out of the 7 Commanders that worked for him, while this was good news the news I recieved from my boss’s boss later that week really humbled me; my boss’s boss told me that he considered me in the running for number one or at least in the top 2 out of 21 Commanders that were in his organization!

Because of my demonstrated leadership style and future potential they gave me a new assignment, they were moving me out of their organization all together and sending me to a new one that is brand new, in fact it is 1 out of 4 that are in existance today.  I take leadership very seriously, I am patriotic and this news gave me an all time “high” and sense of achievement that I have never felt before in my life, all I could do was thank God and the great leaders, coaches and mentors that I have worked with throughout my life.

Now that you have the background let’s just say that every day last week was a major milestone because there was some kind of significant event that had to happen in order for the endstate to be achieved and for all the right outcomes to fall into place.  Being a leader in the U.S. Military has created such a strong foundation that I am considering sharing my success mindset / warrior leader training with other people who are not in the military.

I have applied it to the Home Business and Internet Marketing Industries and proven that the strategies that I have learned and use every day work both in the arena of personnal as well as financial success.

If you are a leader or want to become one let me know your thoughts, I would like to mastermind with you to create a winning team, leave a comment here on my blog or send me an e-mail at Mark at MarkEdwardBrown dot Com

The following words were spoken by the late Red Skelton on his television program as he related
the story of his teacher, Mr. Laswell, who felt his students had come to think of the
Pledge of Allegiance as merely something to recite in class each day. Now, more than ever,
listen to the meaning of these words.

“I’ve been listening to you boys and girls recite the Pledge of Allegiance all semester
and it seems as though it is becoming monotonous to you. If I may, may I recite it
and try to explain to you the meaning of each word?”

I

me, an individual, a committee of one.

Pledge

dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self pity.

Allegiance

my love and my devotion.

To the flag

our standard, Old Glory, a symbol of freedom. Wherever she waves, there’s respect because
your loyalty has given her a dignity that shouts freedom is everybody’s job!

United

that means that we have all come together.

States

individual communities that have united into 48 great states. Forty-eight individual communities
with pride and dignity and purpose; all divided with imaginary boundaries, yet united to
a common purpose, and that’s love for country.

And to the republic

a state in which sovereign power is invested in representatives chosen by the
people to govern. And government is the people and it’s from the people to the leaders,
not from the leaders to the people.

For which it stands, one nation

one nation, meaning “so blessed by God”

Indivisible

incapable of being divided.

With liberty

which is freedom — the right of power to live one’s own life without threats, fear or some sort
of retaliation.

And Justice

the principle or quality of dealing fairly with others.

For all

which means, boys and girls, it’s as much your country as it is mine.

***~~**~~***

Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our country and two words have been added
to the pledge of Allegiance…

UNDER GOD

Wouldn’t it be a pity if someone said that is a prayer and that would be eliminated
from schools too?

God Bless America!

Today is Military Spouse Appreciation Day and as I read over the electronic memorandum put out by The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff it inspired me to pass this message along to all of my Warrior Leader readers in all branches of the Armed Forces both past and present.

No one ever said that serving would be easy but we all knew that when we raised our right hand and swore the oath to protect and defend our nation.  For those of us that are married our spouses are the ones that keep us grounded and focused, aside from God, my wife is the guiding light in my life and for her I am truly thankful, she is  a dedicated mother and loyal partner whom I cherish every day of my life.

On a similar note we ought not forget those whose service has passed, to their tribute I urge you to reflect for a moment and go to this site http://home.comcast.net/~singingman7/TNOTW.htm
