What Korea, Mark Joyner, FaceBook, Traffic Dynamite and Mark Edward Brown have in common.

This is my last post from the continental United States.  Saturday, I leave to go to Korea for a 12 month assignment as a part of my military career.  I am excited to get there because of the leadership role that I will assume once I get there and get settled in and established.

The new year has been phenomenal so far because I have joined Mark Joyner’s team at Construct Zero Inc, Mark named me as his Chief Success Strategist in charge of standardization, retention and some strategic hush hush type marketing stuff that I can not disclose ;-}  You can get a look at some of the programs that I am working on and learn more about it at:  www.ConstructZero.com

I just created a blog post on The Marketing Professional Blog about FaceBook that you might find interesting, you can read it at:

http://www.themarketingprofessional.com/blog/marketing/the-great-facebook-debate-networking-tool-for-friends-and-family-or-business-booster

I also wrote a post at the Traffic Dynamite blog announcing the fact that I appointed Kim (my wife) as the head support diva.  Kim has agreed to take on a role in our traffic exchange business which really makes me happy because through her and later on one or more of the kids we will be able to keep that business in the family, you can read that anouncement here:

There you have it, I am obviously a busy guy but I like it that way.  I still make time for family, friends, and business partners & clients alike so leave a comment and let me know what you are up to or what you would like me to blog about?

I will write my next post once I am settled in and online in Korea!

The Greatest Year of the Decade for Mark Edward Brown

This post will be the last post of the decade however it sums up the previous years achievements which were monumental, here they are in no particular order:

Last December I hit my 20 year mark for my military
career so this month surpasses not one but two
decades of service and I’m still going strong.

Seriously I am still having fun and learning from all the
     great people I work with.

Leadership is such an interesting field because it ties
into so many other aspects of the human dimension.
I highly enjoy “being baptised by fire” so to speak,
this has been better than any college course that I
     have heard of or imagined.

So about that crazy photo on the left.  Towards the end
of November I wrapped up the second consecutive
company command tour which is a big deal.  Many
commanders only get to command one time and
then they move on to other jobs.

At the end of a command tour there is a ceremony called a “Change of Command” ceremony where the outgoing command and incoming commander are recognized etc.  It’s ceremony steeped in tradition and needles to say this one for me is going to be one that I remember for a long time to come.

As I was leaving the building where the ceremony was held and walking to my car in the parkng lot, I noticed that all of the leaders and soldiers were standing in front of my car.  I was surprised to say the least however when I got close enough to realize what was going on I was really flabergasted.  Everyone had pitched in and gotten me a year’s supply of Mt. Dew (my favorite energy drink), I never picked up drinking coffee or smoking so drinking Mt. Dew is my vice.  None the less this was one of the most awsome gestures of thanks and appreciation that I have ever experienced.

In Jan 2010 I am headed to Korea for a third consecutive command, I am excited to say the least because 3 consecutive commands is not the norm in this day and time, Iwill post more about this in the year ahead.

In November 09 I purchased www.TrafficDynamite.com from Dan Davis,
Dan is a contractor who works in Oregon who I met through another
friend of mine named Dan Moses.  Long story short, I have always wanted
to own a traffic exchange and the timing plus the quality of this program was just right.

I am looking forward to enhancing Traffic Dynamite into a truly dynamic and explosive traffic delivery and click thru marketing platform in 2010.  You can follow my progress at the Traffic Dynamite Blog at:  www.TrafficDynamite.blogspot.com

The guy in this photo is one of the most
     accomplished marketers and self
development masters of my time, his
name is Mark Joyner and even though
he has a tan my bald head is still better
looking (lol).  Seriously though Mark has
written many books about marketing and
     success.

I met Mark in person for the first time at
the beginning of December (09), I had
interviewed him a couple of years before
and began following him closely when
I learned that he was a former Army Intel. Officer.

Long story short, I have always dreamed about working for or with that guy and this past month that dream came true.  Throughout the course of several conversations we worked out an agreement to where I was named “Chief Success Strategist” for Construct Zero which is Mark’s online and offline empire.

To learn more about Mark and Construct Zero visit:  www.ConstructZero.org

I will be concentrating on Mark’s continuity programs and all of the aspects that go into operating a world class empire that brings success to it’s clients world wide.  The testamonials that Mark has recived thus far (mine included) are stunning, go to:  www.Simpleology.com  to learn more about why I am so excited about joing Mark and the team at Construct Zero.

In 2010 this blog will change slightly, I will be moving the business and marketing related content to The Marketing Professional Blog at: www.TheMarketingProfessional.com/blog

I will keep this blog operational in order to chronicle my time in Korea and to discuss more of my personnal side and experiences.

So more to follow in the new year,

“How – to” Networking by Mark Edward Brown

Do you know “how – to” promote your personal brand or business in these crucial times?  It is so important to your survival as a personality or business entity that you can no longer ignore it.  Building recipricoal relationships with as many people that are interested in you or your content & information is a must for online businessman and women.  It helps broaden the spectrum of your target market, it allows you to meet more potential clients and can lead to succesfully creating future joint ventures.  In order to last for any length of time in your target market you have to know the right people, which is whynetworking is so very important in any kind of online endeavor.

Networking however, can be stressful at times if you don’t feel confident about what you are doing.  You must know that confidence is an important tool for success in networking.  Without the proper approach however, your relationship with your clients can turn from profitable to not so profitable in a quick way.

Here are 3 key components that you must know in order to properly network with other people and businesses:

1) Know Your Market -

Before giving out your product or contact information, you must know if the people you are reaching out to belong in your market or social niche.  It is easier to reach out to people who are actually interested in you or your product or service.  Instead of convincing others to believe that what you offer is the best that is out there, why not develop your relationship with the folks that you are already involved with?

2) Know the Right Approach -

When you are networking, you must have an introduction or brief descriptiona about you or your business.  It is vital to how to introduce yourself to a number of people, in the right way and at the right time.  You must be fun and interesting.  These chracteristics and attitudes help people notice you and your business and motivate them to want to learn more about you.

3) Know the Right Etiquette -

Networking involves some etiquette to put it bluntly.  Like when people offer their hand, you should always be willing to offer yours for a handshake.  It is even advisable to offer your hand first in order to let people know how welcoming you are as a person.  When you receive a business card, be sure to read it and in return, don’t forget to give yours.

What are some networking tips that you would like to share?  Leave your comments below and be sure to join me in the social networks.
