Can Bloggers Save Journalism

I just read a great article about how bloggers are saving journalism as it relates to print media in newspapers and magazines.  The article was written by Jason Lee Miller, one of WebProNews’s writers.

It seems as though the “Death Of” theme has resurfaced again as it has in the Interet Marketing world many time before buy this time journalism proponents are serious and mention has even been made about providing government subsidies to print mills to keep them on their feet.

The evidence is mounting that print media is becoming less popular and it is know wonder, we can get news updates on our cell phones, crack-berries and of course a plethora of the latest, up to the minute happenings on our home and laptop computers so is it any wonder why the print media barron’s are concerned?

From a militant marketing standpoint, the owners of the major print media companies have already began to adapt to the changes in the marketplace, it’s the small town, mom & pop traditional papers that are being hit the hardest yet all it really takes to make a turnaround is to hire a worthy blogger to convert the paper into a blog and wa-la get your readers back, add some advertising and you could see some positive cash flow come to fruition.

The Traditional Marketplace is not what it used to be and those that are too slow to adapt will go the way of the 8 Track Tape, oops I am dating myself huh?  Maybe not the 8 Track but the 5 & 1/4 in. Floppy Disk, how is that?

My suggestion is to embrace the change and capitalize on it, the printing press is no longer mechanical, it is electronic and digital, it happens in real time, millions of times all around the world, all day, every day.

Adapt or be overcome!

Do Not Do Business With Alert…

I referenced in a previous blog entry here on MarkEdwardBrown’s Blog about how I lost all of my websites and one of my most vital business e-mail accounts.  I have also been working with my bank to stop the people in question because they have been charging me monthly for a service they stopped providing over 4 months ago (web hosting).

Last night the most interesting thing happened, the people that run that operation called me – how ironic, after all this time of me trying to contact them (to cancel the service they stopped providing) and not recieving any feedback or contact from them, they call me.  Guess what, the guy on the other end of the phone proceeded to tell me that I was unethical and accused me of bad business practices for initiating a chargeback with my bank.

To make matters worse here is the last e-mail that I recieved from them:

We will be forwarding this information and all logged information including today’s recorded phone call made to (my home phone)

You have claimed many lies and have every proof to prove you wrong and these two disputes/chargebacks are illegal, fraudulent and unethical.

The botoom line is I am advising all marketers, militant or not – Do Not do business with:

VirtuosoNetSolutions.com or LogicWeb.com

Their customer service is the worst I have ever recieved and this is the first time in my career as a marketer that a so called business that I was paying my hard earned money to called me to tell me I was unethical for trying to right a wrong that was done to me by them!

Onward – what have been some of your less then enjoyable business experiences with so called customer service providers?

Militant Marketer Mad at the Guru’s

Yes my friend, you read that right.

I am mad at the GooRoo’s, why, you may ask?

I have been following several “Successful” internet marketers even a few who claim not to be internet marketers and their marketing messages within their marketing campaigns and there is one thing, no, make that two that really gets my sales sense steaming.

Here is my first point of contention – dont claim to NOT be an internet marketer if you are selling to internet marketers or those aspiring to be internet marketers.  That is like telling your pet dog that you are going to give him a steak but instead you slip him some canned, steak flavored food for dogs.  C’mon, that just does not work, have some respect!

Here is my second concern – this one really boils my blood, why do they say “It’s not your fault!”?

Let’s get real, we are mature enough to be real here, aren’t we?

If you are not successful, is it really NOT your fault?  Seriously, ask yourself (if You are not successful) “Why Am I Not Successful”?

I think deep down you must know the reason, even if you do not want to admit it to yourself or not.

You could always believe the person selling you that one liner and buy into the reverse psychology that it really is not your fault and then shell out thousands of dollars or take the convenient 3-way split payment option and go on to have massive success.

As you can tell some of the more prevalent marketing methods used by the marketers of the day get my goat.

What are some of the sales approaches that bother you?

Soon I will be offering a pilot program for Militant Marketing Recruits – this will be a very small program so stop back often or e-mail me if you dare for advance details.
