I just read a great article about how bloggers are saving journalism as it relates to print media in newspapers and magazines. The article was written by Jason Lee Miller, one of WebProNews’s writers.
It seems as though the “Death Of” theme has resurfaced again as it has in the Interet Marketing world many time before buy this time journalism proponents are serious and mention has even been made about providing government subsidies to print mills to keep them on their feet.
The evidence is mounting that print media is becoming less popular and it is know wonder, we can get news updates on our cell phones, crack-berries and of course a plethora of the latest, up to the minute happenings on our home and laptop computers so is it any wonder why the print media barron’s are concerned?
From a militant marketing standpoint, the owners of the major print media companies have already began to adapt to the changes in the marketplace, it’s the small town, mom & pop traditional papers that are being hit the hardest yet all it really takes to make a turnaround is to hire a worthy blogger to convert the paper into a blog and wa-la get your readers back, add some advertising and you could see some positive cash flow come to fruition.
The Traditional Marketplace is not what it used to be and those that are too slow to adapt will go the way of the 8 Track Tape, oops I am dating myself huh? Maybe not the 8 Track but the 5 & 1/4 in. Floppy Disk, how is that?
My suggestion is to embrace the change and capitalize on it, the printing press is no longer mechanical, it is electronic and digital, it happens in real time, millions of times all around the world, all day, every day.
Adapt or be overcome!
